Why do some hotel peers tuck the quilt under the mattress?

The quilt is tucked under the mattress to keep the bed linen from wrinkling, making the room look neater.

It is also to tell the guests: this room has been tidied up, creating a new feeling, and the provincial staff is troubled by the poor quilt fold.
